Sunday 12th April

My feature artist on this beautiful sunny easter Sunday was Rae Howell, who started up Sunwrae Ensemble about eight years ago. They're about to embark on an 18 date tour of the country, having just released their third album Autumn Never Fall. Sunwrae create live performances with a difference – not only is it a fantastic auditory experience but the visuals have a little something extra. Joining the group are visual artists who create works during the performance. It’s a beautiful experience and I can't wait to head along to the Thornbury Theatre to see them do their thing again on Thursday 4th of June.

Sunday April 5

This week I caught up with Mark Hilton and Toby from Mark Hilton and the Lavender Girls, we talked about making music in Darwin, and what the buildup is like at the top end. They brought in some great tracks by female vocalists and managed to get The Final Countdown in my head. I didn't like that part, but they played some great live tracks as well so I didn't have to maim them.
