Sunday 31st May 2009

Last day of Autumn, days are getting colder, nights are getting longer. What better time to go out and brave the elements to catch some live music in a warm pub around a fireplace? Don't be scared, the pay off is even greater when you have to do scary things like put on gore tex before you can see your fave performers.

This week I co-hosted with Scott Davis again, not wearing his police uniform this time, but brandishing a bunch of great music.

We had a Farnsey Trifecta, to celebrate the return of The Voice to the touring circuit (who would've thunk it really wouldn't be the Last Time?), an interview with Joe Neptune, and a chat with Charles Jenkins about his Blue Atlas Winter Ball.

Been away for two weeks with the sickness of snot and no worky voice, so thought it best to stay away from the radio station  and keep my germs quarantined with me.

Thanks to Andy and Alex for keeping things shipshape in my absence.

This week I had an interview scheduled with The Fumes, but it did not happen. I think it's because the guy was busy making breakfast in bed for his mum. Next time gadget, next time.

Sunday 12th April

My feature artist on this beautiful sunny easter Sunday was Rae Howell, who started up Sunwrae Ensemble about eight years ago. They're about to embark on an 18 date tour of the country, having just released their third album Autumn Never Fall. Sunwrae create live performances with a difference – not only is it a fantastic auditory experience but the visuals have a little something extra. Joining the group are visual artists who create works during the performance. It’s a beautiful experience and I can't wait to head along to the Thornbury Theatre to see them do their thing again on Thursday 4th of June.
